One month after Donald Trump took office as the 47th president of the United States, a new CNN poll shows that the majority of Americans believe he is abusing his power as President, again. About 52% of Americans who participated in the poll believe that he has "gone too far" when it comes to "using the power of the presidency and the executive branch".
The poll shows that the majority of Americans also believe Donald Trump has "gone too far" when it comes to cutting federal government programs with 51% of people conducted in the poll agreeing with that statement.
The poll also shows that 62% of Americans believe that Trump has "not gone far enough" in reducing the price of everyday goods, while optimism for the Trump administration has also dropped since he's taken office. Specifically, only 26% of Americans said they were optimistic of Donald Trump's second term as president compared to December 2024 when 32% felt that way.
Although the poll leans negative, Americans included in the poll also think Donald Trump is doing a better job within his first month as President now than his time as the 45th president of the United States from 2017 to 2021. Obviously, during his first term, not only the Democrats but also some Republicans put barriers to his despotic ambitions.
