Zelenskyy boldly forecasts Putin 'will die soon' amid rumors about his health

The Greek Courier

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has boldly predicted that Russian President Vladimir Putin's health is deteriorating, suggesting that Putin will pass away soon. Zelenskyy made this striking statement during an interview on Wednesday at Eurovision News in Paris. "It is a fact that he will die soon, and everything will come to an end," Zelenskyy declared, urging the U.S. not to reintegrate Russia into global political circles amid ongoing peace negotiations aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine. "It is very important that America does not help Putin to get out of this global isolation now," Zelenskyy said. "I believe that this is dangerous. This is one of the most dangerous moments." Zelenskyy noted that Putin aims to "retain power until his last breath" and is actively seeking "a direct confrontation with the West," as reported by the outlet.

Speculations about Putin's health

In recent years, speculation about Russian President Vladimir Putin's health has been rampant, especially with rumors of his deteriorating condition gaining traction following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. In October, Putin appeared to have intravenous (IV) track marks on his hands during a meeting with soldiers, leading to speculation that he might be undergoing cancer treatment. The source of these marks remained unclear. Additionally, there have been rumors circulating about Putin experiencing strokes and being afflicted with Parkinson's disease. However, the Kremlin has been quick to shut down such rumors, denying reports several times last year amid no concrete evidence backing up claims of Putin's alleged ill health.

Conditions of ceasefire

Zelenskyy's remarks align with an agreement reached on Tuesday to halt attacks on energy infrastructure and cease hostilities in the Black Sea. The discussions involved delegations from Russia and Ukraine, as well as officials from the Trump administration in Saudi Arabia. Yet, according to a report by Reuters, the Kremlin said a Black Sea ceasefire will only be implemented with the removal of Western sanctions on Russia's Rosselkhozbank — which reportedly services agriculture firms — and when access to the international banking system is restored.
