In a classic case of "Look Who's Talking," Donald Trump, the self-proclaimed master of media attention, who practically moonlights as a headline, has accused Senator Chris Van Hollen of trying to grab the spotlight. Frankly, for stealing HIS spot under the sun!
Trump, the failed businessman who turned the Presidency into a reality show by spreading fake news like confetti, took a swing at Van Hollen for visiting Kilmar Abrego Garcia in El Salvador. You know, the guy Trump's administration wrongly booted out of the country? It’s like the pot calling the kettle a grandstander! Which he did!
In a post on Truth Social (where truth takes a Valium), Trump mocked, “Senator Chris Van Hollen of Maryland looked like a fool yesterday standing in El Salvador begging for attention from the Fake News Media. GRANDSTANDER!!!” Because nothing says “I’m not attention-seeking” quite like a former president throwing a tantrum on social media!
Meanwhile, Van Hollen was on a public mission to reunite with his deported constituent. After initially being denied access to a prison famous for its human rights abuses, he somehow MANAGED his way in.
The infuriated Planetarch couldn’t resist a dig either, posting a side-by-side photo of Van Hollen’s meeting with Abrego Garcia and Trump with Patty Morin, the mother of a tragic crime victim. Their caption? “We are not the same.” Well, that’s putting it mildly—one is trying to fix a wrongdoing, and the other is just trying to manipulate a tragedy so he can enforce A POLITICAL AGENDA!
Even El Salvador’s Dictator, Nayib Bukele got in on the mocking, ridiculing Van Hollen’s meeting with a post about Abrego Garcia “sipping margaritas in the tropical paradise of El Salvador.” Because who wouldn’t enjoy a good margarita after a wrongful deportation?
While Trump and his team are busy spinning tales of Abrego Garcia as a “top leader of MS-13,” the U.S. Court of Appeals just gave a stern reminder of due process. They pulled a “not so fast” on the administration, saying: “You can’t just stash away residents in foreign prisons without a shred of due process.”
So here we are, in a world where the attention-seeking King is calling out the knight trying to do the right thing. It’s a political circus, and we’ve all got front-row seats!
