Who's afraid of Maureen Comey?

The Greek Courier

By Yiannis Damellos

Maurene Comey, a prosecutor known for her role in high-profile cases involving the rich and powerful, has been fired from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York. This development raises serious questions, particularly given her involvement in the cases of Sean “Diddy” Combs and Ghislaine Maxwell, both of whom are entangled in legal controversies that touch on issues of sexual misconduct and trafficking.

Comey prosecuted Combs during a sex trafficking trial earlier this year and played a significant role in the investigation of the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender who could have been murdered in his cell, as far as we know, but we were told that he killed himself. She was also the prosecutor of Epstein's associate, Ghislaine Maxwell. The implications of these cases are profound, especially as they involve prominent figures like President Trump, who has called for full transparency from the Department of Justice.

The reason for Comey's dismissal remains unclear, but one source indicated that her firing (from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York) cited Article II of the Constitution, which outlines the executive powers of the president. This adds another layer of complexity, as it hints at political motivations behind her removal. Even Nick Biase, a spokesperson for the Southern District of New York, declined to comment. Smells like "Watergate" to me, and I bet many Democrats have the same feeling, at least those who fight Oligarchy. Because some others may be part of the problem.

A reminder. Maurene Comey is the daughter of James Comey, the former FBI director who has been a frequent target of Trump’s ire. James Comey gained notoriety for his role in investigating Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential election, and his firing by Trump during his first term only intensified the political tensions surrounding him.

As the dust settles from this dismissal, it remains to be seen what impact it will have on the ongoing investigations and the broader discourse surrounding accountability among the powerful and within the White House.

Everybody knows the media loves this kind of story, but does anyone believe that this is the '70s and that there are Woodwards and Bernsteins out there to shake the tree?

Corporate power rules, and if the order is given to downplay the cases, something extravagant will occur, and the attention will shift elsewhere.

I bet the Democratic Socialists are feeling good right now. It looks like the populist right has shot itself in the foot and is limping toward the Midterms. This is the right time to strike deep in the heart of the establishment. Full transparency.

If Trump is who he says he is, he must let the Truth flow. We must find who the rotten are. It is not only the Alt-right that wants full transparency. All of us do. Then again, if he isn't who he claims to be, he does not deserve his position and should resign, like Nixon did. And he should shut down that network of lies and blackmail that he calls Truth Social. Sounds like Orwell's old Ministry of Love, the most terrifying of Oceania's ministries, in 1984, responsible for maintaining law and order through fear, torture, and systematic brainwashing.

Who's afraid of Maureen Comey, Mr. President? Who is afraid of draining the swamp now?
