Thousands of citizens demonstrated in Caracas demanding the return of Venezuela's ousted president Nicolás Maduro, marking one month since the American military operation that led to his arrest, as reported by journalists from the French Press Agency (AFP).

"Venezuela needs Nicolás," chanted the protesters, many of whom were public sector employees. Some of them held photographs of Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores.

The country's interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, has indeed sought closer ties with Washington, but her government continues to demand the return of Nicolás Maduro and his wife, who remain imprisoned in the US.
