Elon Musk personally ordered a slowdown of his military-grade version of Starlink that is used by Ukraine, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was blindsided by the sudden slowdown in the country's connection to the satellite-based network, which rendered some drones virtually useless. President Donald Trump previously said neither he nor Musk were involved in the decision.

"Well, I don't know if it was anybody because it wasn't me, and I don't think it was Elon," Trump said last week. "And from what I understand, it's the same as it's always been."

Musk also denied involvement at the time, blaming Trump.

"Any limits on speed or usage are decided by the US military and ultimately POTUS," Musk posted on X after news of the slowdown became public.

Sources told The Wall Street Journal that Musk spoke with multiple senior administration officials, including Trump, before imposing the slower speed cap, which Ukraine said allowed Russian missiles to evade its defenses. The Telegraph first reported on Musk's involvement last week.
