A highly anticipated travel report for 2025 has just been released, unveiling Greece as the world's second-top destination, closely tailing Italy, which claims the top spot as the most coveted destination for global travelers.

TrovaTrip, a renowned group travel platform, collaborated with Creators and Community Leaders to gather insights from a vast audience of over 286,800 travelers worldwide. These findings shed light on emerging travel behaviors and preferences that are set to shape the travel landscape in the upcoming year, as outlined in the annual 2025 Travel Trends Report.

TrovaTrip's CEO, Nick, emphasized the platform's commitment to simplifying travel planning, stating, "Planning a trip can be overwhelming, but TrovaTrip is here to make it easier than ever."

The report highlights Greece's enduring popularity among international travelers, securing its position as a beloved destination just behind Italy. Bali claims the third spot, followed by Costa Rica and Japan.

Furthermore, the report delves into emerging trends expected to define travel in 2025. Millennials and Gen Z are identified as the driving force behind travel demand, seeking exploration, community, and meaningful experiences. Notably, night tourism, focusing on nocturnal activities at specially selected destinations, is on the rise, offering unique experiences after dark. The report also underscores the significance of local cuisine as a top travel motivator, with a median budget of $2,000.

In a noteworthy achievement, Greece has also set a new revenue record as a global tourist hotspot. In 2024, the country amassed tourism revenues of 21.7 billion euros ($22.6 billion), marking a significant increase from the previous year. This growth was anticipated by Greek officials and tourism enterprises, given the consistent rise in tourist arrivals throughout the year.

Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Greece has seen a commendable resurgence in tourism, showcasing steady growth in both visitor numbers and revenue. The country's revival as an international tourism destination has been remarkable, with a substantial increase in tourist arrivals and revenue, solidifying its position as a premier travel destination in the Mediterranean.
