When Janet told Donald: "See you in Court"!!!

The Other 99%

A few months ago, Maine Governor Janet Mills famously told President Trump, “See you in court,” after he threatened to withhold federal nutrition funding over Maine’s support for transgender athletes. Today, Mills can proudly say SHE WON.

The USDA has dropped its lawsuit, and Maine’s school meal funding is secure. Her bold stance paid off, ensuring that 170,000 Maine children will keep getting the meals they need, regardless of political pressure from Washington.

This victory is more than just a legal win-it’s a powerful statement about standing up for marginalized students and refusing to let federal agencies bully states into discriminatory policies.

Mills’ unwavering support for trans youth and her willingness to challenge the Trump administration in court show what real leadership looks like when civil rights are on the line.

With the lawsuit dropped, Maine has set an example for other states facing similar threats. Mills’ win proves that defending equality and due process isn’t just the right thing to do-it can also deliver real, positive results for families and kids across the state.
