If Trump's claims are accurate and he has ordered the capture of a democratically elected leader of a foreign country by his special forces, something that tops even Henry Kissinger's stance towards Salvador Allende, one would suggest that we may be witnessing the beginning of the end for America's democracy as well. Imagine Maduro being held in an American prison, like a Carthaginian general in a Roman cell. Trump likely feels invincible right now and could inflict serious damage on all his political enemies, both foreign and domestic. In the coming months, Trump may even try to usurp the balancing power of Congress and lead his divided country into a civil war. This sounds a bit like science fiction, but with this madman in power, everything is at play.
To Trump, Maduro is not just a leader; he is a political adversary, not the "narco-criminal" he has labeled him. Maduro, a Bolivarian leader with significant popular support in Venezuela, needed to be abducted because Trump saw no other way to change the regime. Trump has his eyes set on Venezuelan oil and likely expects to profit from this strike. I wonder how American generals view this unprecedented attack and the pressure placed on the Special Forces to execute it.
When I read the news, my first thought was about Canada. We should take this attack very seriously and condemn it, or we risk facing a fate similar to that of Venezuela. Trump has insisted on turning our country into one of his states, and he is already waging an economic war against us. Who can stop this madman from potentially attacking Canada for its minerals and strategic value in the future?
My second thought was about the Proud Boys returning to the scene of their crime on January 6th to celebrate the fifth anniversary of their failed coup d'état. What stops them from burning down the Capitol, along with the remnants of American democracy, now that Trump is the undeniable Archon? Since he became President for the second time, he has systematically eliminated every voice of dissent or concern in the government, replacing them with his own loyalists. Even the Supreme Court appears to be catering to him. The date of January 6th, 2026, may very well mark the beginning of the First American Evil Empire!
The rest of the world should be concerned as well. Countries like Iran and Cuba may seem small compared to the powerful giants, alongside nations like Greenland, Denmark, Colombia, and even Brazil. Tonight's operation was an impressive display—a swift strike at the heart of the country aimed at toppling Maduro in favor of that controversial Nobel laureate, who seems as closely related to peace as Benjamin Netanyahu.
This vile act marks not just a pivotal moment in American history but also a terrifying signal to the world. The foundations of cooperation and mutual respect, painstakingly built over decades, are under siege. The possibility of an international order predicated upon coercion and fear looms large, and with every passing day, it becomes increasingly clear: this is not merely about Venezuela or oil—it is about the soul of democracy itself and what it means to live in a world where power can so easily morph into tyranny. As the shadows of a new age close in, the question remains: who will stand against this tide, and would it be too late to reclaim the ideals upon which the world once thrived?
