Shortly before dying during a US special forces operation at Baghdad airport, the head of the Revolutionary Guards boasted that he was leaving "Five Armies" as a legacy to Tehran. These are: Iran's armed forces, the Revolutionary Guards, the Iraqi Shiite Militia, Hezbollah in Southern Lebanon, and the Houthi forces in Northern Yemen.

Iran may have lost control of Syria in December 2024, yet these "Five Armies" are in place and appear on the scene of developments in the Middle East whenever Tehran makes the call.

More than a year after the twelve-day war between the US-Israel and Iran, the two main arguments of the "Shock and Awe" proponents regarding the Islamic Republic have been disproven:

● Firstly, the scenario of the complete elimination of Iran's nuclear facilities with surgical precision strikes was disproven.
● Secondly, except for Syria, Iran's "Five Armies" are in place from Iraq to Yemen.

A year later, the US and Iran resemble two chess players who have completed their opening moves and are preparing to enter the phase of the main conflict.

Can global economic and energy balances withstand a prolonged armed conflict aimed at controlling the Strait of Hormuz at the entrance to the Gulf and the Bab El Mandeb Strait at the entrance to the Red Sea?

Within a year, the disproving of predictions for the US-Iran conflict is reminiscent of the outbreak of World War I in 1914.

Back then, everyone spoke of a short war lasting a few months, the end of which was already in sight.

The dilemma for the US is clear: either retreat, or uncontrolled diffusion with unpredictable consequences...
